This Economic Outlook is the fifth in the Chartered Management Institute's series of research papers examining managers' views on the economy. It presents the findings of a survey of 616 managers conducted in September 2011, revealing that managers and leaders clearly perceive the British economy to be on the verge of a double-dip recession. The immediate outlook appears very bleak with unemployment rising, spending decreasing, continued lack of access to finance, and growth forecasts diminishing into the spectre of another recession.
